What I’m doing now…

Location: The traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwächän Council - also known as Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.

I am on a journey of unlearning colonial, capitalist and patriarchal ways of being and operating. I recognize this learning journey never ends. I aim to be always open to feedback, particularly from folks with lived experience of oppression that I have had the privilege not to experience.

After 25 years in the health sector (most of it in health leadership in Northern Canada) and being a mom to children (now a mom to young adults), I am focused on doing things with my day that bring me peace, joy, love and freedom.

I like a little framework that I heard from Eckhart Tolle - does what I am doing with the present moment fall into acceptance, enjoyment or enthusiasm.

I am also so thankful to be working with the teachings of Emily Anne Brandt on Decolonizing Coaching. I have many identities and characteristics and provide me with unearned advantages and I am committed to reflecting on that with compassion and increasing my abilities to hold space for others.

What I am doing for work

Personal coaching - on a path towards certification in this incredible approach of Wayfinder life coaching lead by www.marthabeck.com. Helping others to listen to their inner wisdom of the life that is best for them.

Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide with anft.earth. Guiding immersive experiences in nature to support wellbeing and remembering of our interconnectedness with the more than human world

Also still working 4 days a week in the Yukon Government public service - on a secondment to the Yukon Strategy for Patient Oriented Research.

Going to Japan in March

Travelling solo to Japan - have never been. Feeling nervous about the trip. While travelling solo in some parts of the world does not bring on nerves, the idea of this trip is a growth edge for me for sure.

Exploring connection to ancestors

Not so much in a genealogical fashion - though there is some of that. Rather as part of my spiritual growth, exploring ways to connect to the wisdom of ancestors. For me there is some intertwining of this connection and connection with nature beings - particularly stones.

Figuring out how to have a small, indoor dog in a Northern winter!
